Biography

Freddy Delirio is the longtime Death SS keyboardist, featured in some of the italian band's best-selling albums including Rock'n'Roll Armageddon, Resurrection, Ten, and The Darkest Night, just to name a few. The artistic producer of his own discography, Delirio has also been the founder and head singer of H.A.R.E.M for over 22 years, as well as the headliner in several international live events including the Sweden Rock Festival and Gods of Metal; with over 30 years experience as producer and sound engineer, teacher at the Production Bacherlor Jam Academy, and owner of the FP Recording Studio, he has worked on hundreds of international productions all over the world. It is now time for the celebrated italian artist to set out on a brand-new solo project - Freddy Delirio and The Phantoms.

"The Cross" is the title of the band's debut album, entirely produced and arranged by Freddy at the best of his multi-instrumentalist abilities. Additionally, the album features some special guests: Vincent Phibes (ex-Death SS), Francis Thorn (ex-Fallen Fate and ex-Death SS), and Lucky Balsamo (H.A.R.E.M) as solo guitars, Steve Sylvester and vocalists Jennifer Tavares Silveria and Elenaq whose voices give a surreal quality to each track. Francesco Noli (who performed live with Paul Di'Anno) recorded the drums and Chris Delirio was the percussionist of several tracks.

The conceptual album evoke ghosts suspended in a timeless dimension, deathless souls who stalk through various planes of existences, each bereaved with their own karma cross, living the experience of this planet. Real-life stories speak out in a dimension that isn't always tactile or human; starting with the ancestral nature of love and culminating with the circles of Hell, juxtaposed to the metaphysical world of the Hyperuranium.

The band features drummer Christian Pedichini (aka Chris Delirio), bassist Alessandro Lupo and guitarist Paolo Olivieri. This unique project, where rock, prog, metal an doom music mingle with dark atmospheres and the far off echos from cosmic music, and with its unique sound, was for the largest part due to Freddy's long-standing collaboration with Black Widow Records; the Genoa-based label has produced, among the others, the 20th years reprint of Freddy's solo album "Journey" (1992-2012).

"The Cross" was a huge international hit praised by both audience and press. Many enthusiastic reviews appointed it as their Top Album on several magazines. The band played as headliner in many live events including the Sbamfest in Collegno (TO), Leynir Fest in Cassano D'Adda (MI) and Junihell (Prato). In Summer 2021 Black Widow Records produced the exclusive limited edition DVD of Freddy Delirio and the Phantoms "Live at Crazy Bull Café", with 2 official videos and 10 live recordings from the unforgettable concert where Freddy and the original band members performed alongside Claudio Simonetti's Goblin and Blue Dawn on February 22th, 2020 - the last pre-lockdown Italian concert.

Recently, Freddy Delirio and the Phantoms's new track Platinum was featured in the split album "I'm beginning to see the darkness", with Il Segno del Comando and with the Norwegian artist Mortiis.
